Incident reporting

All incidents or accidents that occur on church property should be reported immediately tosupport@adelaideanglicans.com. Ministry Support will notify the insurer in case it results in a future claim.

Such situations may be a fall where someone is injured or a near miss where a serious accident was narrowly avoided.

Mandatory reporting of notifiable incidents

When a serious incident occurs on church property, the Synod or Parish may be legally obliged to report the matter to SafeWorkSA.  Notifiable incidents that MUST be reported to SafeWorkSA include

• fatalities
• serious injuries and illnesses
• dangerous incidents
• cases of COVID19 infection where it can reasonably be attributed to a workplace exposure and leads to hospitalisation or death.

Notifiable incidents may relate to anyone at a church workplace, for example clergy, employees, volunteers, contractors and members of the public.

Note that it is an offence not to report a notifiable incident.
