Easter in the Anglican Church
For Anglicans, Easter is the most important festival, marking the culmination of Holy Week and the forty days of Lent. It is a time of immense joy and celebration, representing the triumph of life over death and hope over despair. The Easter Vigil, held on Holy Saturday, is a powerful service where new fire is lit, the Paschal candle is brought into the dark church, and baptismal promises are renewed. On Easter Sunday, services are filled with vibrant hymns and celebratory liturgy, a time when we celebrate new life. The resurrection of Jesus is not just a historical event but the central assurance of God’s love and the promise of eternal life for all who believe.
